Wakesurf Classes

Novice - Girls
  • Younger than 10 years old
  • Female Only
  • This is our favorite division to watch – it’s all about getting the kiddos out on the water! If your little one can get up on a wakesurfer, we want to see them compete.

    While the goal in this division is to surf without the rope and stay with the wave to demonstrate speed and board control, competitors can choose to surf with the rope.

    Our judges will help them get situated in the water and assist with the rope as well as provide pro tips along the way.
Novice - Boys

  • Female Only
  • Surfers in this division should be able to easily drop the rope and stay with the wave.

    We’re looking to see you make some turns, control your speed and stay in the pocket. Show us your best slaysh, fire hydrant, drop knee, lay down or surface 360. No air tricks, body varial or shuvit tricks are allowed in this division.
Intermediate - Men
  • No Age Limit
  • Male Only
  • Surfers in this division should be able to easily drop the rope and stay with the wave.

    We’re looking to see you make some turns, control your speed and stay in the pocket. Show us your best slaysh, fire hydrant, drop knee, lay down or surface 360. No air tricks, body varial or shuvit tricks are allowed in this division.
Advanced - Women
  • No Age Limit
  • Female Only
  • Time to bust out the 360's, airs, slayshes, 180 shuvs, and body varials. The advanced division is all about laying down a variation of skills.



    Tricks learned from Novice and Intermediate divisions are allowed, but no big spins or 360 shuvs.
Advanced - Men

  • Time to bust out the 360's, airs, slayshes, 180 shuvs, and body varials. The advanced division is all about laying down a variation of skills.

  • No rules here, just show us your best moves. Judges will be looking for the best flow and style as well as technical skills and execution.

Legends - Women
  • Older than 55 years old
  • Female Only

Adaptive

  • No restriction
  • Show-off all your latest surf tricks and moves — nothing is restricted! Three pick-ups are allowed.
Foil
  • No Age Limit
  • No restriction
  • Surf the first or second wave... drop the handle or hang on. Judging is based on your control of the foil and overall impression.
Open
  • No Age Limit
  • No restriction
  • No rules here, if you’re pro or planning to become one. Test your skills behind the Nautique G23 or G23 Paragon and get dialed in for the season.

    Judges will be looking for the best flow, big airs and style as well as technical skills and execution. Avoid repeating tricks.

Wakesurf Point Standings

The Wake United Surf + Wake Series has a championship based on the total points accumulated throughout the season. These points are based on the rider's class and placement at each stop. If a rider does not attend or ride at a stop, they accumulate zero points. The rider's season class is based on the highest class they have competed. In the event of a points tie, overall placement at each stop will dictate the winner.
